MDOT SHA Roadwork Update: MD 169 Safety and Resurfacing Project in Anne Arundel County

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is starting its construction project along MD 169 (Maple Road) between MD 648 and Hammonds Ferry Road in Anne Arundel County.

Safety improvements include reconstructing ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) sidewalks and pedestrian ramps at key intersections. Work also includes replacing and upgrading storm drains along this section of Maple Road, partial-depth patching, milling and resurfacing and landscaping.

Initial work includes patching and storm drain installation. At times, pedestrian and cyclist access will be limited, and traffic may be directed using a flagging operation; drivers are reminded to remain alert for work crews.

MDOT SHA crews are permitted to work on site between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. The $1.6 million project is scheduled for completion in summer 2021.

Customers who have questions about the Maple Road safety and resurfacing project may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603. Project information is also available at roads.maryland.gov via the MDOT SHA Project Portal.
